Parking
Calendar Parking- You may only park on the odd side of the streets and avenues on odd days of the calendar, and the even side of streets and avenues on even days of the calendar. This ordinance is in effect from 12:00 midnight to 7:00 A.M. October 1st to May 1st. As a reminder, use the calendar date as of midnight. (Signs are posted at the edge of City limits and other areas.)
24 Hour Parking- You may not leave any vehicle or trailer on the streets or avenues longer than 24 hours without moving the vehicle or trailer.
Downtown Parking- No overnight parking in the downtown areas from 2:00 A.M. to 7:00 A.M. Look for signs in the affected areas.
Truck Trailer Parking- is prohibited in residential areas. You may not park a semi tractor or trailer or combination of both in residential areas within the City.
The above parking citations are $10.00 each.

Pets
City ordinance requires owners to license all dogs and cats. All dogs and cats must have a current rabies vaccination to obtain a license. The license may be purchased at the Staples City Hall, 122 6th Street NE, Staples.
- Leash Law- Dogs and cats must be kept on a leash and/or under immediate control.
- Noise- Dogs may not cause a nuisance by habitually barking or howling.
- Lost and Impounded Dogs and Cats-If you are missing your dog or cat, please call our dispatcher at 1-800-794-5733 to report it. Please also check with the Staples Vet Clinic at 894-1775, as this is our impound location. Impounded animals may only be reclaimed Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. You must come to the front desk at the Government Center to pay the fees, then bring the receipt to the Staples Vet Clinic to retrieve the animal.
